Clinical Analysis of the Treatment of Axillary Osmidrosis

Abstract

|
Secretion of axillary glands is naturally odorless but a strong foul smell is developed by bacterial contamination. It causes ruined clothing and exteme social embarassement. The fundamental treatmetn of osmidrosis axillae is to eliminate the
sweat
glands from the axilla and there are many operational method. We have used subdermal shaving method and Inaba's method.
We reviewed 10 patients who underwent an operation from January the lst to October the 31str.
@ES the following results were obtained.
@EN 1) The patient were 5 females and 5 males.
2) Most of osmidrosis occurred I the age group of between 16 to 46 years.
3) the mean postoperative hospitalization date was 10 days.
4) The complications were follows;
(1) in one case recurrence & reoperation was performed.
(2) partial wound disruption; 2 axillae
